Was surprised - thought from outside it was spit n sawdust place but no, it's a quality gastropub with plenty of tables, decor is opposite of rundown but charming...will be back

We sat in Carthy's beside the fire. The atmosphere was lovely. We ordered the seafood special which was sea bream. absolutely out of this world!

Favourite spot in the vicinity. Always a place to come when visiting my family in the area. Food is phenomenal and the best pint of Guinness around that isn't mentioned in the usual lists. Hidden treasure.

You will receive a friendly welcome and there is a large selection of seating options. The service is great. Very friendly. What I particularly liked is the carafe of water that is brought to the place and is always refilled. Not like in Germany where water has to be bought expensively with meals.

The ambience invites you to spend a long, long and relaxed evening here. In addition to the food, there is also a special menu with spirits. A great selection of whiskeys and beers.
